Beers

Guest ales: We always have a selection of guest ales which change regularly but which include amongst many others:

Hop Head 3.8% abv An extremely clean-drinking pale golden ale with a strong floral aroma and elderflower notes from the Cascade hops. This beer is full-bodied and full-flavoured yet gentle enough to make it a favourite session beer. www.darkstarbrewing.co.uk.

Timothy Taylors

The drinkers’ favourite, a classic pale ale with a complex citrus and hoppy aroma.

It has won more awards than any other beer, having won both the CAMRA Champion Beer of Britain and the Brewing Industry Awards Gold Medal four times.

 Red Fox

An autumnal favourite, Red Fox is tawny red in colour and bursting with delicious malty flavours. Brewed with toasted oats, which lend distinctive biscuit notes and a mellow aftertaste

London Pride a smooth and astonishingly complex beer, which has a distinctive malty base complemented by a rich balance of well developed hop flavours from the target, Challenger and Northdown varieties in the brew. At 4.1% a.b.v in cask (4.7% a.b.v in bottles) London Pride is an ideal session-strength premium ale. Its flavour has been likened by Stephen Cox, beer writer and former campaigns director at CAMRA, to 'the sensation of angels dancing on the tongue.

Seafarers Ale Seafarers is brewed to 3.6% abv and is a delicious, thirst quenching ale. The secret of the hugely satisfying, refreshing taste of this light, amber beer is in the blend of finest quality English malt, Admiral hops and the unique Gales yeast. Well developed fruity malt flavours and gentle bitterness sail through to a satisfying hoppy finish. Fuller's will donate £3 for each barrel sold to Seafarers UK, the leading maritime charity. Over the last decade Seafarers UK has given more than £26 million in grants to help support sailors and their families.
